On February 8th, 2025, the youth gathered at the Orsoline Centre for their monthly prayer meeting, held every second Saturday. These meetings serve as a vibrant forum for celebration, togetherness, and the exchange of ideas, providing young people with an invaluable opportunity to address their concerns in an environment of openness, courage, and hope.

The focal theme of this day was "The Virtues," emphasizing the firm disposition to do good. Emulating God through a virtuous life involves understanding our actions, their methods, and our readiness to perform them.
Types of Virtues
Theological Virtues
- Faith: This virtue allows us to trust in God, His Scriptures, and His proclamations (Romans 1:17; Luke 1:37).
- Hope: Encourages us to aspire for heavenly bliss, relying on the Holy Spirit’s grace rather than our strength (Psalms 42:11; Romans 5:3-5).
- Charity: This leads us to love God above all and our neighbors as ourselves (1 Corinthians 13:1-13).
These virtues, instilled during Baptism, help Christians foster a deeper relationship with the Holy Trinity and are pivotal in Christian moral activity.
Human Virtues
- Cardinal Virtues:
- Prudence: Enables us to discern our true good in every circumstance and choose the right means of achieving it.
- Justice: Concerns our constant and firm will to give their due to God and neighbor.
- Fortitude: Provides the firmness of mind needed in doing good and enduring evil.
- Temperance: Moderates the attraction of pleasures and provides balance in the use of created goods.
Human Act
- Actions influenced by virtues which guide us to lead morally good lives, emphasizing moderation and ethical consistency.
Addressing Conflicts
Conflicts arise in families and communities due to miscommunication, resource sharing, environmental issues, social inequalities, and more. Effective conflict resolution involves tackling these issues with honesty and a commitment to the common good, fostering peace and stronger relationships.
Conclusion
The day concluded with a Holy Mass where Rev. Fr. Genesio inspired the youth to continue doing good, loving oneself, and sharing, as these are the sacrifices that please God. The secretary of the committee, Muthama, thanked everyone for their participation and commitment, despite the short notice of the event.
This gathering not only addressed the spiritual and moral needs of the youth but also equipped them with practical insights to handle everyday challenges through the lens of virtue and faith.
