The Catholic Chaplaincy in the University has three major bodies: the staff, the alumni and the students. Our patron saint is St. Thomas of Aquinas. Rev. Fr. Dr. John Ndikaru wa Teresia is the Chaplain, a lecturer in School of Social and Development studies, teaching Criminology and Disaster Management. Chaplaincy started its operations in June 23rd, 2010 when Fr. Ndikaru was made in charge by His Eminence John Cardinal Njue. Previously priests were invited to say mass and confessions for the chaplaincy.

Staff
In the chaplaincy are the staff who work in the university. This includes staff in the administration offices, the teaching staff and the casual employees. They usually join for the week’s activities of the YCS including the holy mass among other activities

Alumni
These are the people who were in TUK YCS but completed their studies. They include even those who were in the YCS when the institution was a university college. They usually meet on Thursdays at the university from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. They also have an annual calendar that includes activities such as retreats, charity works and social functions.

Students
This is the largest of the three bodies of the chaplaincy. It consists of all the students studying at the University at all levels and faculties.

Weeks Activities

  • Mass - We have mass thrice a week. On Mondays and on Wednesdays the mass is at 4.00pm. On Fridays the mass is at 1.00pm.
